Making a mark on history

Money makes the world go around and Rotary has stimulated large economic benefit over the past 100 years. So, what better way to recognise Rotary’s achievements than a commemorative coin for our ‘Down Under’ centenary year!

A commemorative coin was minted in 1971 for Rotary’s 50th anniversary, coinciding with the first RI Convention hosted in Sydney. And again in 2005 for the centenary of Rotary International. Now we complete the loop; The Royal Australian Mint will feature Rotary as part of its 2021 commemorative coin collection, with the launch of a pair of coins for our centenary. A $1 coin will go into general circulation and also be available in a commemorative collector’s pack for $15. A special minting of a silver $5 coin will be available for $100 marking 100 years of Rotary service in Australia.
The new coins will be launched in Sydney on February 4.

But wait! There’s more!

It is also time to announce a new commemorative stamp to add to the collection from 1955, 1971 and 2005 marking previous Rotary anniversaries.

Australia Post will launch a special stamp to mark our centenary along with several ‘products’, including first day covers, stamp packs and inclusion in the annual stamp collection.

The new stamp will be launched alongside the commemorative coins on February 4, with a public release in April.
