Following the success of its 2024 event, Rotary and the City of Parramatta Council, along with concerned citizens, will once again walk from Mays Hill Oval to Parramatta Square to raise awareness about domestic and family violence.
Following the walk, participants will here from a number of keys speakers discussing domestic and family violence and how it affects business and our way of life, and the long term associated effects on our community. There will be information booths from support agencies on the day.
During last year’s event, participants heard from Corinne Lindsell, who lost her older brother to domestic and family violence in 2017, when the house was deliberately set on fire by his girlfriend.
The rally will leave Mays Hill Oval at 12 noon and arrive at Parramatta Park at 12:15pm, where walkers will be welcomed by Lord Mayor of the City of Parramatta Martin Zaiter.
