Welcome to our newest Rotary club!
Ashika Devi, a young Human Resources professional in Fiji, was all smiles when she received the news from Rotary International that the new Rotary Club of Suva Central in District 9920 was chartered on 1 August. For Ashika, the club’s charter president, it was a fitting celebration to usher in Rotary’s Membership & New Club Development Month. All 25 members of this new-style Rotary club are young professionals under 48 years of age. Six are below 40 and nine are females.
This is the first new Rotary club to charter in Rotary Zone 8 for this new Rotary year. The founding of the club was the initiative of Ashika, formerly a member of the Rotary Club of Suva East, Past District 9920 Governor Vineeta Nand and Rotary Zone 8 Membership Team’s New Club Start Up Team member District Governor Nominee Raj Chand. Together, they are expanding Rotary’s reach.
