The Mission

The Rotary Club of Mosman has helped support the Rotary Program of Enrichment (RYPEN) and Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) in Timor-Leste for more than 15 years.

In 2023, working with a team of Timor-Leste RYLA alumni, the club raised the necessary funds for the design and construction of a pre-school in Hera, an area where no pre-school facilities existed. Building work was completed in mid-2024 and the school opened with 50 students in January 2025. The school received accreditation from the Ministry of Education in late 2025.

Building on the success of that project, the club is launching a program to build a primary school in the same district, supporting graduates from the pre-school program.
