Alice Springs conference cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Zone 8 Conference Convenor Noel Trevaskis has made the difficult decision to cancel the Conference and Governors-Elect Training Seminar in Alice Springs, set for September 2020.
“The health and welfare of Rotarians and their families was foremost in this decision,” Noel said. “There were also significant financial implications if we were to cancel the conference at a later date. I wasn’t prepared to take that risk.”
Noel will work with lead trainer Tony Monley on where and when the Governors-Elect Training Seminar for Zone 8 can be held, dependent on what eventuates with COVID-19 over the coming months.
“I can assure you that this decision was not an easy one to make, but I believe it is the right decision,” Noel said.
“We are in unprecedented times globally, as well as here in Australia and New Zealand. We need to make sure that we look after ourselves, our families and friends at this time.”
