Ballina resident Julie and her four children lost their home and all possessions in the devastating 2022 NSW floods. The 22-foot Jayco Caravan, valued at approximately $80,000, was gifted to Julie by anonymous donor and delivered to the families property on Friday, 13 May 2022, by District Governor Elect Dave Harmon, President of the Rotary Club of Ballina-on- Richmond Col Lee and fellow Rotarians Carol Wheatley, PDG Terry Brown, Jodie Shelley, Cheryl Hicks and PDG Brain Wheatley.

District 9790 Governor David McPherson asked his two children, twins, Lily and Liam, to choose the organisation for his partner project during his term as governor. The inspiring project they selected was #WheelchairsForKids.

Interact leaders from throughout Queensland and NSW kicked off World Interact Week on Saturday with the #Interaction2020 District Conference. Organised by the Rotary Club of Burleigh Heads, the day involved plenty of motivational fun and games to connect Interactors with other clubs from Rotary District 9640. A highlight of the day was packing more than 200 shoeboxes bursting with stationery supplies for school kids in Timor Leste. We took the opportunity to chat with some of these young leaders about what Interact means to them.

Hundreds of Rotaractors from four countries, 19 districts and 28 clubs rocked up to the Australian Rotaract Conference 2020 to join like-minded changemakers, exchange ideas, develop personal and professional skills and just have a whole lotta fun.

Rotary Matters Radio – Peak Hill Central School

For 26 years Belrose Rotarians have provided a unique opportunity for Yr 11 and 12 students from Peak Hill Central School to spend five days in Sydney, experiencing the attractions but significantly, gaining an insight into the world of work by visiting local businesses and government. They are billeted with local Rotary families. Later in the year a group of Belrose Rotarians reciprocate by visiting Peak Hill and providing insightful career advice as well as guidance on how to apply for a job, resume writing and interview techniques.

Rotary Matters Radio – Empowering Women to Achieve

Dress for Success provides a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Through the program, women from all walks of life can acquire thoughtfully curated clothing, shoes and accessories to create the best impression at job interviews. Women also receive career guidance, counselling and training. Online resources like Zoom are used at this time to run workshops including advice on make up. We meet Tanya Jackson-Vaughan, CEO of Dress for Success and also Sue Hayward, a past Rotary District Governor who explains the link between Rotary and Dress for Success and the development of pop up fashion stores.
