The Rotary Foundation funding model
WORDS Anke Timm. Philanthropy Supervisor.
The Rotary Foundation is a well-oiled machine whose technology has been refined over the past 100 years. It is innovation in the making, it is thought leadership, and it has had and continues to have long-term impact.
This machine has been designed to provide efficiency and effectiveness in receiving money, and equally in providing grants through The Rotary Foundation. This structure can look complex, but it depicts perfectly the dual nature of our Foundation.
The four funds serve as a trusted destination for money gifts. The PolioPlus Fund and Disaster Response Fund gifts are going straight into PolioPlus programs and disaster support, the red- and green-coloured rectangles in the graph (page 8).
Donations to the Annual Fund and the Endowment Fund are processed through the SHARE system, as well as long-term investments and their returns. They act as a source for grants, empowering local clubs to undertake projects with partners in their community or around the world.
The Rotary Foundation’s programs are incredibly diverse. Across our seven Areas of Focus, Rotarians deliver district and global grants, support peace scholars and Programs of Scale.
The Rotary Foundation funding model turns gifts into impact.
