International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians
48th Annual Golf Tournament
Held in Australia’s stunning Top End for the first time since 2012, the NT’s capital promises to turn it on for the International Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (IGFR) 48th Annual Golf Tournament on 10-15 May 2026.
As the southern states prepare to rug up for winter, Darwin couldn’t be balmier at this time of year, with warm, dry weather guaranteed.
Darwin Golf Club is the premier course in the Top End and the perfect venue to play 18 holes. It’s relatively flat and open but will challenge you as every good course should. With more than 2,000 trees removed and a brand-new irrigation system just installed, you will barely recognise it if you’ve played here before.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Darwin, the tournament’s program includes four rounds of golf over four days, with a free day in the middle to explore local attractions and hospitality. There is also a non-golfer’s program, a welcome barbecue, Rotary make-up dinner (think ‘Western’ themed) and a final presentation dinner.
Proceeds from the tournament will support Australian Rotary Health – specifically children’s mental health and remote nursing in the Northern Territory – and the Rotary Club of Darwin’s John Hood Memorial Scholarship, which allows Australian greenkeepers to travel to the US for approximately 12 months to learn their craft from the best people at Ohio State University and on the best golf courses in the States.

About the IGFR
The IGFR has been around in one form or another for nearly 50 years and, until recently, was known as the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (AGFR).
The true value of this fellowship is in the places you travel to and the characters you meet. Each year, members congregate in a town or city somewhere in Australia to take part in the Annual Golf Tournament over one week.
The event is rotated on a state-by-state basis and Rotarians travel from all parts of Australia. Generally, around 100 Rotarian golfers take part, with 30-40 playing partners and 20-30 non-playing partners. Each tournament is hosted by a local Rotary club.
Next year’s tournament is open to international Rotarian golfers for the first time, who will be able to compete for all trophies.
